Rainwater harvesting is an effective
method to fight drought in today's world where billions of people cannot access
clean water resources. Rainwater collected on the roofs of domestic and
industrial facilities can be stored after being physically treated and reused
in garden irrigation, reservoirs and cooling towers. Rainwater filters are
installed at the inlet of underground and aboveground water storage tanks,
preventing unwanted solids and pollutants from reaching the tanks. While the
filtered solids and pollutants are removed from the drain, clean water fills
the tank.
It is also possible to produce drinking
water from rain water with advanced treatment methods to be applied in addition
to physical treatment with rain water filters.
