In ACT, one of our goals is to improve sustainability within the scope of water resources and to add social value by supporting projects that will increase the quality of life of the victims. This goal motivates us every day and we are proud to be part of the solution.
In other words, we strongly believe in the concept of sustainability and support this idea. We do so because we are the members of the Aquamatch group which is far beyond being an ordinary water treatment company from Turkey but an organization, where the largest number of environmental engineers expert in their field are hired. With our know-how and experience, we design and manufacture our water and wastewater treatment systems in accordance with sustainability principles. In this context, we also support national and international institutions that undertake the mission of supplying drinking water to regions and communities suffering from water shortages. We do this because we are aware of the following facts:
According to the 2015 World Water Development Report of the United Nations, there is a three-dimensional correlation between water and sustainable development in terms of poverty, economic development and ecosystems.
In short: water shortages have a negative impact on poverty and hunger, making societies more unstable and prone to tensions and conflict. Investments in water infrastructure are among the basic conditions for the full unfolding of economic growth potential in the early stages of a country's economic development.
In this report it is also stated that "infrastructure to reduce the risk of water scarcity and manage water-related disasters can make a country's development efforts more sustainable by reducing vulnerability and / or increasing the resilience of economies to extreme events." In addition, it is also claimed that "improved water resource management measures have shown significant economic gains".
Healthy ecosystems provide water services of significant social value through flood control, groundwater charging, riverbank stabilization and erosion protection, water treatment, biodiversity conservation, transport, recreation and tourism (MEA, 2005b). There has been a 30% reduction in biodiversity health since 1970 (WWF, 2012). Poor water management approaches may be the factor in this reduction.
The imbalance between existing natural resources and today's needs supports the reality of a sustainable environment. On the one hand, this imbalance occurs with the tendency to remain constant or depletion in natural resources, and on the other hand, the remaining resources become unusable by being contaminated for various reasons.
In this scenario, the role of water treatment providers such as ACT becomes more important. Because these organizations ensure that wastewater is recovered or treated before it is discharged in accordance with current regulations. Thus, it is possible to consume and pollute existing resources less. On the other hand, the application of the latest technologies to purify water such as sea water, brackish water, muddy water, etc. also contributes significantly to reducing the pressure on existing water resources.
